Using a tool from the Washington Post I made my predictions for the final results in 2008. >Electoral College Prediction Map - Predict the winner of the general election. Use the map to experiment with winning combinations of states. Save your prediction and send it to friends.
I think Obama will win Nevada, New Mexico, Colorado, and Iowa. These are states won by Bush in 2004 but only by a few percentage points. I gave Ohio and Florida to the GOP although I think Obama has a shot at winning in Ohio.
My prediction gives Michigan and Nevada to Obama even though current polls suggest they both lean towards the GOP right now. If the GOP wins Ohio and Florida then Michigan becomes a must win for Obama.
You can make changes to this map right from this blog post. Just click on a state to toggle it between Democrat, GOP, and Neutral. You can return my predictions by selecting "Your Saved Picks" from the list.
It is interesting to note that if you start with my picks but then give Colorado to McCain then the race results in a 269 to 269 tie.
