I'm completely blown away by poorly written state constitutions. Texas's constitution has over 400 amendments. The Oklahoma constitution is not any better.
From The Daily Oklahoman:
Banz said lawmakers have already identified a couple of areas of the 100-year-old state Constitution that might be rewritten if a convention is called. The flashpoint of kerosene? Why is that even in the Constitution?
One of them, he said, is the document's declaration of the flashpoint of kerosene. It is officially established by Section 2 of Article XX of the state Constitution as 115 degrees Fahrenheit.
The article is unclear on whether the lawmakers in Oklahoma just want to adjust the flashpoint of kerosene or just remove it altogether. Let's hope they remove it.
